The recent “suicide” of Lucian’s father is the latest in a string of deaths on the estate. Someone is eliminating the de Vincents. And the best way to get to Lucian may be through Julia...

REVIEW:
Look who's finally decided to post a review on this book? This idiot here.

It took quite the time to post it since it was the hardest review I've ever written. Also because I rated this book 4 stars and I'm about to say stuff that won't make sense regarding the rating but bare with me. Read the entire review and you'll understand.

So... Why FOUR stars and not less or more?
First of all, overall I did enjoy the book thus why I read it so fast but there were so many things that kinda disappointed me or left me feeling that it was too predictable.
It's quite difficult for me to hate a Jennifer L. Armentrout book because she's my favorite author (yes, I'm a bit biased) but I can still point out when something on her books pisses me off or I think didn't make any sense at all.

Once again - and I'm getting tired of having to bring this up - the hype ruined the book for me.
Okay, maybe not ruined... But I didn't love it as much as I could've if the freaking hype wasn't an a**hole.
I was expecting more. There's not much I can add to that. I just felt that something was missing, the romance didn't do it for me, the whole drama towards Lucian's sister was too predictable for me and the fact that Lucian didn't tell us everything about his past pissed me so damn much. For crying out loud, this book was about him and Julia and still a lot of things weren't answered.

My hopes for this book were like a roller coaster where the journey is 15% up and 85% down into hell. The beginning was quite awesome and it made fly through the pages but once I started reading more, that felling of awesomeness just dissipated. You could almost say that it kinda got a bit boring, I wanted more action, more drama, MORE romance. One moment Lucian and Julia have 0 feelings for each other and 2 seconds later... BAM, I love you

Putting aside what I said about Lucian earlier, I did love him. I think he was the best character in this book and I craved for the chapters in his POV.
I didn't connect at all with Julia and that made me sad because usually I connect with every single freaking character Jennifer creates.
I'm just praying to all the gods and entities out there that I love the second and thirst books in the de Vicent trilogy.

To clarify a bit more: I didn't hate the book but I also didn't love it. OVERALL (emphasis in that word) I enjoyed it but since Jennifer's my favorite author I'm almost expecting more and better from her thus why a lot of things weren't to my liking.
I hope now you understand why the 4 stars rating.

BOOK REVIEW: Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1) by Holly Black

Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Published date: 2 January, 2018
Published by: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult, Fae
Pages: 384
Format: Ebook
Rating: 3*
Synopsis:
Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.
REVIEW:
3 SOLID DISAPPOINTING STARS !!

[May the hate towards my review come. I'm ready y'all.]

So... Cruel Prince...

I don't even know where to start but I ain't gonna spoil anything at all so this will be a very short review.

This is the first Holly Black book I read and I had high expectations. Why?! Well, let's give a round of applause to my best friend [irony] THE HYPE!!
For real, the hype people do over books tend to ruin them to me and I wanted to love this book so much but I wasn't able.

Did I enjoy it? I did.
Will I re-read it?? Hell to the big NO.
Did I love any character(s)? Hahah, you're funny. Not a single one, honey.

The story is intriguing but I didn't like the way Holly Black explored this world and their characters. She fussed over so many things as if they were a matter of life and death but in the end they were completely forgotten throughout the story. I spent the entirety of the book asking myself if anyone would bring up said topic/action/moment that was supposedly soooo important
Yes, I'm pissed.

I truly tried to create any kind of connection towards the characters but I just couldn't make myself do it because it was impossible to connect with them. Actually, to me, most things in this book didn't even make sense.
So basically, I struggled to put myself in anyone's shoes because I just thought everyone was trash. Even the main character.

Will I be reading the second next year? Yes.
Why? Because I want to give this a second chance.
As I said, I didn't like it but I did enjoy it in its entirety. Overall I was able to enjoy it but if we brake this book into sections... Oh honey, I will hate the heck out of it and point out every single ridiculous thing there is in each sentence.

BOOK REVIEW: Mistress of the Vampire by Elena Darkmoon

Mistress of the Vampire by Elena Darkmoon
Published date: 21 December, 2017
Genres: Paranormal, Fantasy, Romance
Pages: 259
Format: Ebook
Rating: 3.5*
Synopsis:
He had a hungry look in his eyes. He had been searching, seeking, until he found me. I was burning under his gaze, I wanted to rip my clothes off, I wanted to run away. Who was this beautiful man and what did he want from me?

Magnus Redman became my boss and my lover. I was young, innocent and inexperienced, the opposite of him, and he knew just how to penetrate the soft core of my mind until all I could think about was him. Our passion was intense, crazy, sexy, white hot and dangerous, just like him. I craved him like a drug, his hands, his body, his teeth……

But then hidden secrets and painful revelations from the past threatened to tear us apart. And we found ourselves battling a powerful force hell-bent on revenge and destruction. How much would we be willing to sacrifice to save the ones that we love?
REVIEW:
First thing I must say is that this story has so much potential and I want more and more of our characters.
Our two main characters, Lena Stone and Magnus Redman, have a deep connection and even though one's a vampire and the other a human (or more) and they shouldn't be together, they can't. It's as if their souls are intertwined and nothing will be able to tear them apart. No obstacle is capable of breaking them.

Magnus is a mysterious man while Lena doesn't know the mystery behind her family's true story, true past, their origin. Both love each other fiercely but Magnus always puts Lena's safety in first making it difficult for them to have a relationship. For him, knowing that Lena was okay and that no one would harm her, even him, was his priority and that made me love him so deeply.

At the beginning I thought that Lena was just another helpless character that needed her lover to save. I was oh so damn wrong. Once Lena started to workout and to learn how to defend herself, to know her body and how much strength she could exert in an opponent, she was so darn badass.
Even at when Magnus had just met Lena he thought of her as his equal but from page to page we get so a better and improved Lena and in Magnus' eyes she was the synonym of perfection, of a strong and independent woman.

There were a couple of things I didn't like and that's why I didn't rate this book 4 or 5 stars.
Some things were a bit confusing such as the chapters on another character that was connected to Magnus. In the end I understood it was done like that on purpose but I still got confused during my reading journey so I think those chapters could have been inserted in the book in a different way. Even so in the end the book was Wow. A lot of things were mind blowing because I wasn't expecting them.
I'll surely be waiting for more books from this author.

BOOK REVIEW: Behind the Bars by Brittainy C. Cherry

Behind the Bars by Brittainy C. Cherry
Published date: 7 December, 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, New Adult
Pages: 373
Format: Ebook
Rating: 5*
Synopsis:
When I first met Jasmine Greene, she came in as raindrops.

I was the awkward musician, and she was the high school queen.
The only things we had in common were our music and our loneliness.

Something in her eyes told me her smile wasn’t always the truth.
Something in her voice gave me a hope I always wished to find.
And in a flash, she was gone.

Years later, she was standing in front of me on a street in New Orleans.
She was different, but so was I. Life made us colder. Harder. Isolated.

Caged.

Even though we were different, the broken pieces of me recognized the sadness in her.
Now she was back, and I wouldn’t make the mistake of letting her go again.

When I first met Jasmine Greene, she came in as raindrops.
When we met again, I became her darkest storm.

REVIEW:
You should not judge a book by it’s cover or in this case you should not judge people for their looks or gossip. Get to know them and you might get surprised with what you’ll find in the end. That’s an easy way to sum up this book but there’s so much more to it.

Behind the Bars shows us the pain and struggles Elliot and Jasmine had to go through in their lives. What made them suffer, build up walls, made them be cold or cry. Life is full of pain, but we can find magic in some little corners and both of our lead characters taught us that.

Brittainy C. Cherry never ceases to amaze me with her books. She’s capable of making me feels the emotions the characters are going through or else she just makes me cry my eyeballs out which is a compliment.

It's been three days since I finished the book and I still can't collect the right amount of words to describe how good this was written, how beautiful this story was. If I could, I would've given this book a thousand stars instead of only five. I'm sure that there are a thousand other readers/bloggers saying the same things as I but trust me... I LOVED IT so freaking much. I flew through the book and when it was coming to an end and I wanted more and more pages of it. More Elliot and Jasmine, more beautiful words, just more.

I don't want to be repetitive or give you guys spoilers, I just want to plant a little curiosity bug inside you all so you go grab this book and consume it as if it was your last breath. Actually... Read this one and then read every single other book by Brittainy, you'll thank me in the end.

''She was my music, my life, my everything.''

BOOK REVIEW: Quiet Girl in a Noisy World by Debbie Tung

Quiet Girl in a Noisy World by Debbie Tung
Expected Publication: November 7th, 2017
Publisher: Andrews McMeel Publishing
Genres: Graphic Novel, Nonfiction
Pages: 184
Format: Kindle Edition
Rating: 5*
Synopsis:
Sweet, funny, and quietly poignant, Debbie Tung’s comics reveal the ups and downs of coming of age as an introvert.

This illustrated gift book of short comics illuminates author Debbie Tung's experience as an introvert in an extrovert’s world. Presented in a loose narrative style that can be read front to back or dipped into at one’s leisure, the book spans three years of Debbie's life, from the end of college to the present day. In these early years of adulthood, Debbie slowly but finally discovers there is a name for her lifelong need to be alone: she’s an introvert.

The first half of the book traces Debbie’s final year in college: socializing with peers, dating, falling in love (with an extrovert!), moving in, getting married, meeting new people, and simply trying to fit in. The second half looks at her life after graduation: finding a job, learning to live with her new husband, trying to understand social obligations when it comes to the in-laws, and navigating office life. Ultimately, Quiet Girl sends a positive, pro-introvert message: our heroine learns to embrace her introversion and finds ways to thrive in the world while fulfilling her need for quiet.

REVIEW:

This book shows us the world of Debbie Tung through several small comic illustrations. Debbie shows us several things that make her uncomfortable or social awkward moments she has gone through. Most of these moments we can quite relate, and by we I mean us introvert people.

I found myself nodding and saying heck yeah several times during this book as if I was talking to someone (my mom thought I was going crazy).

I don't consider myself completely introvert. I like having my own space and being left a alone most of the times but I love to socialize (no crazy parties and such) and talk for hours but one day I'm a mood for that but like in the next five minutes I just want to be cuddled up in my bed with a book a cup of hot cocoa.

I loved going through every single drawing in this book because there's a mixture of the things that make Debbie feeling awkward or even unhappy but there's also drawings that show us what she loves to do and the things that make her the most happy.

There's always the ups and the downs and we must live through both but we should always grab the happy memories and no the other way around.

What made me feel so connected with this book was the fact that she was such a book nerd as I am and I could completely relate to her in that topic. As well as when she says that she has nothing scheduled to do and that makes her happy, I am sooooo like that as well. I like having nothing to and just lay around in bed enjoying being lazy.

I think you should all pick up this book because it's an easy read since it's a graphic novel, you can enjoy Debbie's artwork and a part of her life is here. You'll feel like somehow your own life is portrayed here and that will make you reading time more enjoyable.

BOOK REVIEW: Ironic Sacrifice (Brides of Prophecy #2) by Brooklyn Ann

Ironic Sacrifice by Brooklyn Ann
Published date: 9 June, 2014
Published by: Broken Angels
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy
Pages: 252
Format: Ebook
Rating: 5*
Synopsis:
Jayden Leigh wants to commit suicide. Her clairvoyant powers have become so intense that she lost her job and home. Death is the only way to make them stop. Opportunity presents itself when she comes across a sinfully handsome vampire ready to make a kill. Jayden begs for him to take her instead. A blissful death in his arms, or the visions ravaging her mind? She'd gladly take the vampire.

Razvan Nicolae is captivated and amused by the beautiful seeress who sacrifices herself for a stranger. Killing such a pleasing asset doesn’t interest him. If he could get her powers under control, she just might be the key to finding his missing twin.

Controlling her visions and working for a seductive vampire? Razvan’s offer is like a dream come true. But her dream turns into a nightmare when a mad vampire cult leader seeks to exploit Jayden’s powers to stop an ancient prophecy.

As Jayden finds herself at the center of a vampire war, she realizes that the biggest threat isn’t losing her life, it’s losing her heart.
REVIEW:
Ironic Sacrifice is the second book in the Brides of Prophecy book series.
In this book we meet Jayden who hasn’t had an easy life after she gained psychic abilities that were slowly driving her mad. She cannot touch anyone or else she’s bombarded by a huge wave of memories and thoughts. All of that inside her head becomes too much for Jayden and leads her to think of suicide and then it’s when we get to meet our sexy vampire Razvan.
He’s our typical (yet cinnamon roll) cocky guy who knows he has a perfect body and no women can resist him. Although Razvan has all those traits that we can find in several other cocky characters, he’s quite different from all of the other and not just because he’s a vampire.

Since I don't want to spoil you guys I won't say any more specific details about the characters but let's talk about what I thought of the book,

I've been kinda in a reading slump so for me to get out of it isn't that easy and this book actually made me want eat books again. I actually ate this book in less than 24 hours so I think by now you already know what my thoughts on this book are.
I completely loved it and the more I read the more pages I wanted this book to have. I was totally immersed in this world of vampires, seeress, mad women, family feud, missing brothers and so on.

This is not just another vampire book even if it has a hot and manly one. This book is full of drama, action, romance, emotions and a great story not only for the two main characters but all the other characters come with a background as intriguing as Jayden and Razvan.

Give this book a shot and I promise you that you won't regret picking this book up.

BOOK REVIEW: Through the Woods by Emily Carrol

Through the Woods by Emily Carrol
Published date: 15 July, 2014
Published by: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Genres: Graphic Novel, Horror, Fantasy, Short Stories
Pages: 208
Format: Kindle Edition
Rating: 5*
Synopsis:
'It came from the woods. Most strange things do.'

Five mysterious, spine-tingling stories follow journeys into (and out of?) the eerie abyss.

These chilling tales spring from the macabre imagination of acclaimed and award-winning comic creator Emily Carroll.

Come take a walk in the woods and see what awaits you there...

REVIEW:
This book scared the sh*t out of me.
I must confess that I read the book during my work shift and it was day time and still I was scared like hell.

Every single story left me intrigued to read the next one and see what kind of monsters Emily thought of. Besides being scary, creepy, whatever you want to call it, I thought this book was amazing and mystical. I never thought I could love so much reading about horror short stories as much as I loved this graphic novel book. I must say that I want to read more Emily Carrol works.

Let's talk about the art.

Minimalistic yet beautifully drawn, gory and scare-the-hell-out-of-you creepy. If someone described me the drawings or even showed me one of the scarier ones I probably wouldn't read this because I'm not a fan of scary stories but I confess that I was intrigued so I gave it a try and fell completely in love with the art and every single tale.

I've definitely been reading more graphic novels and I've been falling in love with most of them but I'm sure this one will stick to me because of the creepiness level it has but also because we all have fears and these tales reminded me of my childhood fears such as darkness, monsters under my bed, noises I heard during the night and the woods (of course).
If you're a scary cat like myself don't read this at night. I read during the day and I still did get scared.

If Griffin is ever to rebuild his future, he must first confront his history, every last heartbreaking piece in the puzzle of his life.

REVIEW:
The best way for you guys to understand how much this book was good is to say that every single chapter, page, word touched my heart.

“I'm sorry, but please don't be mad at me for reliving all of it. History is all you left me.”

When I started this book I already had some clues about Adam Silvera's writing. I knew that his books were for you to cry your eyes out and that is exactly what happened to me.

I have to admit that the first 2 or 3 pages didn't grab me much but once I kept going, I wanted to know more. At the same time I couldn't read this book for huge period of times. Why you ask? Well, the chapters here go from History, Today, History, Today and so on. You would think that only the History ones or the Today ones would make me sad or something like that, but no. Both were so heart breaking and beautiful, touching and inspiring, sad and emotional in huge levels.

This wasn't an easy book to read because it touched the theme of losing a loved one, death if you want me to me more specific. Going through the past and present was a complete emotional roller coaster. At the beginning I only wanted History chapters because they left me with a smile and the Today ones left so damn sad or made me cry a ton. But the more I read the more the History chapters started to leave sad as well so it was hard to read several chapters in a row because my eyes love to leak water. Let me correct it... leak oceans.

This is the first Adam Silvera book I read but I loved it. I loved his writing, the complexity of the characters, the things this book made me think of.

“History is nothing. It can be recycled or thrown away completely. It isn’t this sacred treasure chest I mistook it to be. We were something, but history isn’t enough to keep something alive forever.”

We have the ups and downs in the this book. The downs being the moments when Griffin felt at his lowest, when he felt that his world was coming undone and wanted to just give up and say ''screw the world. And then there's the ups when he starts to see that it's normal to need help from others, that live isn't always perfect but we can search for the good moments instead of being stuck in negativity.

“There’s nothing wrong with someone saving my life, I’ve realized, especially when I can’t trust myself to get the job done right. People need people. That’s that.“

Besides all of these quotes the one that will remain in my head for a long time for sure will be this one:

“History remains with the people who will appreciate it most.“

Even if you're not a fan of ugly cry books, give this one a try. This books was outstanding and I will cherish it so much.

REVIEW:
So, this book  got a five star rating because it was damn phenomenal.
Just the synopsis by itself made me want to read the book asap and don't make me talk about the book cover because holy lord I love it so darn much.
Now into the story!

I was totally pleased with the whole plot and how things progressed. We didn't get an obvious plot because information wasn't just given to us right at the beginning. You had to read the book so you could discover things at its own pace.
There was obvious attraction between Abigail and Jayden but what made me want to see how the story developed was the fact that they eventually created a friendship between them and further into the story a love relationship. Although it was hard for Jayden and Abigail to talk about their past they ended up trusting each other with what they consider their darkest moments and made them easier to live with.

I LOVED Anya Omah's writing and that for me is quite important so I can enjoy the book fully. Her writing just makes you dive into the book and makes you thirsty for more and more. I just couldn't put the book down. It took me a day to read it and I was damn happy with it.

Please read this book because you'll laugh, smile, fan yourself because it'll get hot but most important... you'll get attached to the characters.

BOOK REVIEW: Bad Boy Neighbor by Maddie King

Bad Boy Neighbor by Maddie King
Published date: 21st April, 2017
Genres: Novella, Adult
Format: Ebook
Rating: 3*
Synopsis:

My neighbor is an arrogant prick.
I’ve lived across the street from him for three years and I’m fed up with his constant partying. He’s the neighborhood bad boy and everyone is afraid to confront him - everyone but me.

When I go to put my foot down one night, I’m in for much more than I thought.
He’s going to show me who the boss of the neighborhood is and he doesn’t care if I like it or not.

REVIEW:

I know this is just a short story/book/novella and full of hot and steamy moments but I would have loved to read more about Brook and Xander.

Xander's an arrogant prick but we sort of got a glimpse of his softer side.
Yes, Brooke has had enough of his douche bag's attitude but there's so much attraction between these two that it's impossible to not shred clothes & have some fun under the sheets or in the porch of someone's house if you know what I mean ahaha.

It's a shame this wasn't a full length book because it had so damn much potential to be like a 350 page book filled with drama, more of their relationship and a lot more slutty/hot scenes.

BOOK REVIEW: The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry

The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry
Published date: 13th April, 2017
Genres: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Format: Ebook
Pages: 270
Published by: Self-publishing
Rating: 5*
Synopsis:
Graham Russell and I weren’t made for one another.

I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.

Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other’s secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.

Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.

Graham Russell wasn’t a man who knew how to love, and I wasn’t a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I’d fall with him forever.

Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

REVIEW:
For those who don't know, this book is part of a series called Elements. There are four books in this series and this one's the last. They're all standalone so there's no particular order for reading them even though I read them all by their release order.
The books available are:
  1. The Air He Breathes
  2. The Fire Between High and Lo
  3. Silent Waters
  4. The Gravity of Us

Besides The Gravity of Us the other book that I gave 5* was The Air He Breathes which is my favorite book of them all. Even though both I gave both books a 5* rating I think that the first one is wayyyyy better because feels. I don't know, I just connected too much with the book and I loved it to death and beyond.

So first of all:

Yup, I gave this book a five star rating and I regret nothing.

Now that that part is cleared out of the way let's get into the book review/talking/opinion whatever you want to call it.

So... the more I think about this book the more stars I want to give it. I finished reading it a day after its release, so I finished it on the 14th of April. It's been already five days since then and I'm only writing something now because I wanted to give it sometime so the story could settle down on my head, so I could process it and think exactly why I gave it five stars and not less.

SOME SPOILERS MAY BE WRITTEN DOWN ON THIS REVIEW. You were warned.

The beginning of the book was a bit difficult for me to read and enjoy but after three or four chapters I couldn't drop the book for a second. I was just hooked. I needed to know more and to see how it all would develop.

I freaking loved Lucy. She was all smiles and sunshines. Very expressive and emotional, you could read her so damn well (all of these are compliments). She had the biggest heart you could find and she was just so damn caring, it's impossible to not love her.

Graham... Well... you could say he was the opposite of Lucy but in a way he wasn't. He just closed up his emotion due to too many hurtful moments during his life and once you get to know his past and that every single person he cared for left him, you'll understand his present self and why he looks so bitter sometimes. He's not a bad person, not at all. When Graham his with Talon (his daughter), you get to see his true self. He loves his daughter so freaking much, she means the world to him and so does Lucy from some point in his life.

Both Graham and Lucy complement each other. She feels everything and he feels nothing and throughout the book you see them both balancing each other, creating a friendship and furthermore a love relationship that I freaking adored and respected the hell out of them.

I could spend the whole day talking about the book and everything that I loved and which character I hated (LYRIC/JANE... I HATE HER SO FREAKING MUCH) but just go freaking read the book, it's so darn perfect.
